Background

In today’s digital age, national defense is no longer confined to land, sea, and air—it now includes cyberspace. The TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) recognized this growing need and partnered with Naku Lab to elevate their cyber readiness. The goal was to conduct a comprehensive security audit, identify critical vulnerabilities, and train internal units through a Red Team vs. Blue Team simulation.

Challenge

With increasing cyber threats targeting government and military institutions, TNI needed more than just a surface-level assessment. They required a deep, tactical analysis of their systems and hands-on training for their personnel to simulate real-world attacks and responses.

The key challenge was balancing military protocol with evolving cybersecurity methodologies, while ensuring that internal teams could respond quickly and effectively to potential intrusions.

Our Approach

1. Full-Scale Security Audit
   Our team conducted a multi-layered assessment using OSINT techniques, penetration testing, and network analysis. We identified vulnerable endpoints, outdated configurations, and third-party software risks.

2. Vulnerability Analysis Report
   A detailed vulnerability matrix was delivered, ranking each issue by severity and impact. Recommendations were aligned with global standards (NIST, ISO 27001) and adapted to military-grade requirements.

3. Red Team vs. Blue Team Training
   We designed and executed a simulation where our Red Team mimicked real attackers—exploiting weak points, breaching systems, and testing defenses. The TNI Blue Team, composed of IT and communications personnel, was tasked with detecting, mitigating, and countering these attacks in real time.

4. After-Action Review & Playbook Creation
   Post-simulation, we conducted a debrief session analyzing performance, response time, and gaps. A custom Cyber Incident Response Playbook was developed for future readiness and training continuity.
